3/4 Classroom News

3/4 Winter Sports
On Thursday, we travelled to Ky P-12 to participate in the 3/4 Winter Sports. The students participated with other schools from the area in games such as 3 -v- 3 Speedball, Capture the Flag, Gaga Pit, Spikeball, 9 Square in the Air, Hunger Games Tag, Pony Express, Sideline Basketball, Boot-Ball and Backboard Dodgeball. Here's what some of the kids had to say about the day:
Baste:
In a mixed emotion, I softly stepped out of the colourful bus and looked at the school in front of me, as my heart skipped a beat. I stepped into the big school and got into my line. The fun games began! I played 3v3 Volleyball, The Hunger Games, Dodgeball, Spikeball, Basketball, Gaga, 9 Square in the Air, Pony Express, Bootball and Capture the Flag. I loved the day and I can't wait for next year!
Skylar:
Nervously, I sat in line behind the number 13 cone with Dustyn. We were with lots of other kids from other schools. The Hunger Games was my favourite game because Lesha was against us. I can't wait for next year!
Logan:
Excitedly, me and Ethan rushed to get the back seats of the bus. Sadly, Ethan got the only seat left so I had to sit alone - it was fun though. We dashed past farms and trees. Then we got there. The school was so crouded I didn't even know if we would all fit, but we did. It was so cool seeing everything this school had built, then we all lined up. I was in group two. Then we started playhing Number Basketball; it was hard butmy team got through it. Then it was recess. We got a pleasant surprise when we saw Seth who had transferred to a different school. We excitedly played with Seth, then the bell rang loudly. We were so excited that we were getting to play The Hunger Game! We were getting picked between three groups; red, purple, green and blue. I was on the blue team. The day was so much fun and I'm glad I'm only in Grade 3 so I get to go again next year.
Chett:
Excitedly, I stepped on the bus, walking through the aisle looking for a seat. Finally, I sat on the bus and traded my footy cards with Oscar and James most of the way there. Loudly, the bus pulled up with its squeaky brakes. We put our bags down and quietly sat down in our groups between 1-14. I was nervous as I didn't know what to expect. First, group1 headed to Sideline Basketball. I had to play as two numbers because someone was not participating. We played some more games like Nine Square and Gaga. It was an amazing day! I can't wait for next year. I think it will be even better.
Amazing Progress
It has been a busy couple of weeks of assessment in the 3/4 classes. Mrs Haw and Ms Elborough have been extremely impressed and proud of the data they've been collating. The students' should be so proud of their efforts this semester, as their hard-work has certainly paid off!
