Food Studies

Food Studies examines the changes that have occurred in Australians' eating habits as a result of historical changes, focusing on Aborigines, and the impact of technology and immigration. Through theory and practical sessions, students have an opportunity to explore cuisines and cultures from all over the world as well as plan nutritionally balanced meals according to the Australian dietary guidelines.

The students apply their knowledge and skills in small projects and assignments, class discussion, practical sessions and tests. They are required to display the ability to follow a recipe and develop food preparation skills with independence and organisation.
