Earthscape

This subject aims to provide students with a wide range of experiences and life skills that relate to plant and food production, with an emphasis on sustainable farming practices. Students will participate in a practical, work-based environment, completing projects such as creating and developing a vegetable and herb garden at school. They will learn about the various factors that influence successful plant and food production, such as climate, weather and soil types, as well as concepts such as companion planting and plant care and maintenance.
Students will have the opportunity to work outdoors in a team environment and will use a range of horticultural equipment. They will be encouraged to work independently and cooperatively, to show initiative, ingenuity and resourcefulness. This will be an exciting opportunity to allow the expression of God-given talents and abilities, and a great ‘hands-on’ opportunity for students to learn new skills.
