Media

Students build on their multimedia skills, concentrating on filmmaking. Students will be introduced to film making basics, cameras and filming techniques, script production, film direction and other key film production elements. Incorporated into the study of this subject are analyses of short film 23 elements and television, specifically documentaries and genre films; students will further be involved in the production aspects of interviews and in construction and creation of documentaries.
This subject culminates in the production of students’ own collaborative works – a short film. Students make use of Adobe Premiere Pro, sound editing and animation creation software. They use both video and digital SLR cameras, may incorporate ‘green screen’ techniques and Foley (sound) artistry. Multimedia industries generally require considerable collaborative skills, and this subject seeks to develop this key area through group projects and cooperative learning tasks.
