Primary News

This term, Room 2 has been learning about Aboriginal Dreamtime stories during our Humanities lessons. We read How the Birds Got Their Colours, which explains how Australian native birds received their vibrant colours—and why the crow remained black. We also explored How the Turtle Got Its Shell, a Dreamtime story about a fight between a turtle and an echidna that led to the creation of the turtle's hard shell and the echidna's spines. Inspired by these traditional Dreaming stories, Room 2 students enjoyed creating their own artworks based on the books.

Transition News

As part of the Transition program, students at Croydon SDS took the lead in planning the upcoming Blackwood school camp. They developed skills in teamwork, budgeting, and organisation while choosing activities, creating packing lists, and helping with logistics. This hands-on experience promoted independence and confidence, preparing students for future responsibilities in community and workplace settings.

A message from one of your school captains

Hi, my name is Declan, and I am one of the School Captains for 2025.I really like helping with the Principal Awards each week. As a leader I like to help my friends with their schoolwork and when we go to t-ball on Fridays. I also like to play basketball and going for walks with my mum on Friday after school. I am looking forward to going on camp in a few weeks and my graduation in December. I am happy to be the School Captain this year and enjoy helping others. Thank you for voting for me this year.
