‘i Sea, i Care’ Student Marine Ambassadors for 2025

i Sea, i Care: Victorian Marine Ambassadors Program at St Simon’s
The Dolphin Research Institute
On Tuesday 6th May our eight Victorian Marine Ambassadors attended their first workshop. Nathaniel Pitruzzello, Keira Bartholomeusz, Emmett Baker and Jadon De Silva, as well as our Grade 5 Marine Ambassadors: Ariana Duke, Jayden Walther, Neve Stone and Alana Powell They did an amazing job representing our school.
Our eight student school ambassadors enjoyed meeting with many other primary school leaders. Members of the Dolphin Research Institute, shared with us many insights about the rich marine environment. Our student ambassadors were given an opportunity to share their learning with students from the host school.
To support the Dolphin Research Institute, we are celebrating World Oceans Day. The United Nations celebrates World Oceans Day, (WOD) every year on the 8th of June. However, St Simon’s will be celebrating World Oceans Day next Term on Monday 4th August. World Oceans Day Reminds us about the important role the ocean has in the lives of ourselves and others
On Monday 4th August, we encourage all students to dress up in a costume that relates to the ocean or wear warm comfortable casual clothes for the day. We would ask students to bring in a gold coin donation for the Dolphin Research Institute, (DRI). During the day, some students will be partaking in ocean conservation activities and fun games.
