The Power of Patience

After waiting so patiently for 21 days, the Blue Team is now proud carers of lots of baby chicks! We have kept a calendar to mark down the days and then a tally chart to track how many eggs had hatched. In our Together Time, we have been practicing using our gentle hands and safe sitting in preparation for handling the chicks. We had 15 chicks in our care for a week. They have now gone back to Mr Nigel’s farm.

What can you see in our incubator?

“I just love it because it’s so cute and said cheep cheep. I can see its eyes”. - Lillian

“Inside the egg, the chick is still a little bit wet. It was looking at me”. - Dion

“I saw a baby chick in the corner”. - Eleanor

“When the baby chicken was inside the egg, I saw the egg hatched and the egg cracked, it was a bit tired. It wasn’t a mum, it was a baby”. - Indiana

“It’s legs, it’s black”. - Abeer

“It just looks like a chicken”. - Emilia

“It has feathers”. - Flynn

“The mummy chicken laid the eggs”. - Lilly
