Showcase Week

As a Performing Arts Captain, I had the pleasure of working closely with my fellow Captains to MC last week's Showcases. My favourite night by far was the Friday night Contemporary Showcase. Listening to all the bands perform from backstage was truly an amazing experience.   I can't wait to hear these bands perform at the Gala Concert in Term 3 alongside all the ensembles.

The Performing Arts Captains want to thank Danny van Bergen for helping us be the best we can be, Mr Andrew Lewis for filling in for us during the ensemble showcase when we ran out of stuff to say & Nicholetta Rigano for proof reading over the scripts and PowerPoints but also giving us chocolates. ~ William Spiroch

Congratulations to all the students and staff for another successful Showcase Season. The decision to have five evenings instead of four was well received by audiences. It was wonderful to see the progress of all our students, particularly students new to the program.  Thank you to the POPA Committee for selling refreshments and donating the annual Showcase Door Prize. Congratulations to Ling Ma who was the randomly selected winner of the Showcase Door Prize and won a hamper of movie treats.

We now turn out sights to Music Camp where will further hone our skills in preparation for our Term 3 Gala Concert.

REMINDER: Music Camp

Mon 23 - Wed 25 June

'CYC The Island', Cowes

The Event for Music Camp is now up on Compass.  It is expected that all Instrumental Music students attend Music Camp with consent and full payment (or commencement of payment plan) required by 15th May.

Music Camp is a significant part of our curriculum and provides the only opportunity for all students within our ensembles to participate together in intense rehearsals, workshops, team building exercises and performances where they will further develop their skills in musicianship, teamwork, and leadership.  Though running costs for camps have significantly increased, Music Camp remains a highly subsidised event to ensure that all students can participate.  Please go to the Compass Event for more information. Here is a glimpse of last year's Music Camp:
