OSHC

Bernadetta Martella

Wominjeka Everyone,

Last week, we had our former student, Maisie, who is in year 9, coming to OSHC for their work experience. It is so great to see our grown-up students coming back to OSHC as their safe environment. Maisie has been a such great asset for all of us, supporting our children in the cooking club and in the art room. You will see Maisie again this week and we are very happy with all their work they have been putting in our team…  well done, Maisie!

Science Incursion – Monday 2/9/24

Another exciting day of science incursions had the children creating rainbows using a variety of materials. They used shaving cream, water, and food colouring to make rainbows, connected cups with paper towels to create rainbow effects, and combined milk, food colouring, and dish soap for another colourful experiment. It was amazing to see how it all worked and how the children helped each other throughout the process, making it a truly wonderful experience.

Cooking Club: dumplings

We have been busy with our cooking club: making Dumplings. We are very impressed with all the children making a big effort to wrap the dumplings by hand and tools, and they turned out delicious. – it can be very tricky to fold the dough! Our senior children have been given age-appropriate risks, using knives to chop vegetables and fry the dumplings. Great effort!

Tumbling With Tara – on Wednesdays

A special Thank you to Tara, who has been deliver tumbling classes to our children every Wednesday this term, after a long day at the school, working as teacher aid. Our children love Tara’s classes, and we had so many positive feedback from our children and their families!

Spring Magic Market: Jewelry making

In the last few weeks, in the art room we opened up our extensive bead collection to make bead bracelets and earrings for the Spring magic market. The children got into working out the pattern they were going to make and then diligently threading the beads for that pattern onto their wire.
