From the Year 3 Classroom

Week 8 recognised our Learning Support and Teacher Aides.

Grade 3 is lucky to have our very own Miss Emma Sinclair. Thank you for all you do for our kids Emma!

Reading - In reading we have been focusing on identifying supporting reasons for an argument in a persuasive text and identify the author’s opinion and list the evidence used in the text to support this.

Writing-

We have been continuing our focus on persuasive writing. Students have been busy researching four environmental issues which they are now writing about. These issues are: deforestation, plastic pollution, brumbies in the high country and fast fashion.

Mathematics-

We have completed the unit on ‘Angles’ students, did a fantastic job and achieved some great results in their Post Test. For the remainder of the term, we will have a focus on Number and Algebra along with retrieval activities we have covered throughout the term.

Reminder to continue practicing Timetables, even those students who have passed.

Inquiry-

To finish off our inquiry unit we are learning about Australia’s neighbours in our Australasian region. This includes- Australian aid given to other countries and our role in the world as global citizens.

We are investigating how people live in other countries and the similarities and differences between them.

Religion- Congratulations to our students who made the Sacrament of Reconciliation last Wednesdsay. We are so proud of all our students and their hard work leading up to the Sacrament. On the night students were reverent, respectful and simply amazing. Special thanks to Mrs. McInness for all of her support during our Sacramental preparation.

SPELLING BEE REMINDER- Monday 16th

Spelling booklets will be sent home Friday so students can practice their words
