From the Year Prep Classroom

In Reading we have continued our learning about Narrative texts. We are learning strategies to retell texts using cues such as: Somebody, Wanted, But, So, Then. 

In Writing we have been writing our own simple Narrative texts! It has been really exciting getting to share own our ideas and write a beginning, middle and end to our own story. We are going to begin to work on publishing our stories. 

In Maths we have been learning about place value, we have been looking at 2-digit numbers and determining how many tens and ones are in each. We have been representing these numbers using MAB blocks and expanding these numbers using addition! We are beginning to revise addition and subtraction strategies we have learnt this term. 

In Religion we have continued our learning about The Bible. We have identified the two parts to the Bible, the Old Testament and the New Testament. We have been sharing stories from both parts of the Bible and are enjoying learning more about God and Jesus. 

A few reminders from the prep team:

Please bring drink bottles and hats each day that are clearly labelled.

If fruit break could come in a separate container that would be greatly appreciated.

Words are tested on Fridays. On occasions we may have time to do them throughout the week.

On Tuesday the 17th of September, we have our excursion to Billabong Ranch Echuca - further information will follow regarding this day. 

Athletics carnival on Friday all prep students can wear their house colours or sports uniform.
