Our concert was an amazing success and hopefully created some fantastic memories for all our families. I am really pleased to announce that although all accounts have not been completely finalised, we have raised in excess of $17,000. This will go straight towards the new grandstand overlooking the oval. We still need to raise some additional funds, but hopefully the school Walkathon in Term 4 will allow us to reach the “magic” figure. We will then begin the project ASAP.
Last week we had 8 students attend the Division Athletics Carnival at Goldsworthy Reserve. Our students did an amazing job to even reach this level of competition. Results were:
Elizabeth (5B)- Hurdles: 7th
Rose (5A)- Long Jump: 10th
Dougie (6A)- High Jump: 6th
James (6B)- Shot Put: 2nd
Skyla (6A)- Discus: 11th
Scarlet (3/4A)- Discus: 12th
Tom (5A)- High Jump: 3rd
Hannah (6A)- 1500m: 5th
Well done to all these students for representing Rollins and a big congratulations to James who has qualified for the Region Athletics Day in Keilor on Tuesday 22nd October!
Term 3 finishes on Friday 20th September at 2.30pm. Camp Australia is available for those parents’ needing supervision for their child/children. Students return to school on Monday 7th October. Reminder that all students need to have a broad brimmed navy hat for Terms 4 and Term 1 when we experience warm/hot weather. Please make sure each hat is clearly labelled.
It has been a long cold, busy term with lots happening in our community. Hopefully, we will get some warmer weather during the school holidays and families can spend some time enjoying the sunshine. Make sure you create some great family memories as children grow up so quickly.
Enjoy the break everyone
Jenny
