This week has been full of disruptions, and I highly commend the learners for staying flexible, positive, and focused despite the challenges

Literacy

This week, we dove headfirst into our Literature Circles, leading up to in our first official Lit Circle discussion on Friday.

Over the past month, we’ve been exploring each of the six roles, and these last two days have shown us how they come together to create engaging, thought-provoking conversations about our book, Once. Through self-reflection, each learner is discovering their reading strengths and identifying areas that need more focus. We're also deepening our connections by learning from one another and appreciating the diverse opinions, and perspectives of our classmates.

Buddy reading

On Wednesday morning, we did something special by joining our F/1 learners for buddy reading. It warmed my heart to see our leaders patiently helping the younger students with unfamiliar words and embracing their playful sides while reading together. It was a beautiful way to start the day, and I’m sure this tradition will continue, bringing more shared moments of joy and learning.

Investigations

After many requests, our beloved investigation time has returned, and our 4/5/6 learners eagerly embarked on some amazing discoveries. They thoughtfully connected their investigations to our current learning, showcasing creativity and history in a Eureka Stockade artwork, and blending geography and writing in information reports on Alice Springs and the Mundi Mundi Bash. These sessions are vital for exposing learners to their strengths and different learning styles, allowing them to explore and develop their unique talents in meaningful ways.
