Dear Families,
What a wonderful way to start the day last Friday with our Father's Day breakfast of coffee and donuts. The weather was very kind as dads, grandads, father figures and friends came together to spend time with our young children kicking the footy, playing table tennis, jenga, connect 4, totem tennis, pickleball and much more. We hope everyone had a lovely day on Sunday with family.
Thank you to all the families who attended their PSG's last week. These meetings take quite a lot to organise, ensuring teachers are released from their classrooms to attend the meetings and for Maddy to have all the documentation up to date and signed. Term Four meetings will now be on Wednesday 6th November (due to a clash with a Principal's meeting in Shepparton that both Maddy and myself have to attend). Reminders for this will go out shortly.
We are noticing a number of students arriving to school after 9am. It is imperative (and a requirement from CES) that as parents you come to the office to sign your child in and give a reason for them being late - this has to be noted on their attendance records. The same is needed if students are being picked up early.
Also if your child is absent from school for the day or coming in late you can use the PAM app on your phone to mark their absence (this will notify the office as well). It does take Sarah and Sandi a considerable time to contact parents to find out why children are not at school. Your support is appreciated on this matter.
We have had numerous late lunch orders this week. A reminder that they need to be handed in to the office by Wednesday.
Once again thank you for your support in keeping children home where possible on the day of the power outage on Tuesday. Our main concern is the loss of phone and internet supply - making it very difficult to contact you if anything was to happen.
The dental van was booked in for this week however they had to make a late cancellation and have rebooked for a visit later in the year. We will hold onto the paperwork and let you know when they give us their new date.
District Athletics is this coming Wednesday in Shepparton and the following week we will have our combined St Luke's/St Joseph's Athletics Day on Monday 16th September in Shepparton. All parents are invited to attend. Please check PAM for permission forms.
Thank you to the families who have paid 2024 school fees in full or who are using direct debit. This is very helpful when it comes to do the budgets for next year. If you are experiencing difficulty in paying fees please make an appointment to see me to discuss payment plans etc.
The last day of this term is Friday 20th September. The students are able to come dressed in their favourite footy colours, purchase a hot dog for lunch and finish the day at 1.20pm.
Our 3/4 students will head off Week One of next term (Wed to Fri) on their camp to Nillacootie with St Mary's Rushworth. Notes on what to pack, medical forms and camp activities will be sent home next week. Permission form is on PAM. Please ask Maree or Gab if you have any questions.
Have a wonderful weekend everyone.
Take care and stay safe,
Maree
