R U OKAY DAY

At Ripponlea Primary School, we recognize the importance of looking out for one another and supporting mental health. This year, on National R U OK? Day (Thursday, September 12th), our school community came together to focus on the power of a simple question: Are you okay?

Students participated in classroom discussions and activities designed to promote kindness, empathy, and the importance of checking in with friends, family, and peers. By learning how to start meaningful conversations, students gained valuable tools for supporting those around them who may be going through tough times.

National R U OK? Day serves as a powerful reminder that sometimes the smallest gestures can make the biggest difference. Let’s continue to spread the message: a conversation could change a life.

BOOK SWAP DAY

Our Student Representative Council (SRC) leaders recently organised a fantastic Book Swap Day in support of the Indigenous Literacy Foundation (ILF). This initiative encouraged students to swap their pre-loved books with one another while raising funds to provide books and learning resources for children in remote Indigenous communities.

The day was filled with excitement as students eagerly traded stories and discovered new reading adventures, all while contributing to a meaningful cause. Thanks to the generosity of our school community, we raised valuable funds to support the ILF’s mission of improving literacy and educational opportunities for Indigenous children.

A big thank you to our SRC student leaders for their hard work and dedication in organising this event, and to everyone who participated and made a difference!
