Last week we had our biennial Art Show. This was a very exciting event for our school community. Congratulations to our children who created the most wonderful art work around the theme INSPIRE with our Art Teacher Anna Plackett, our Artist in Residence Nicky Tsekouras, the children's class teachers and our learning support staff. Thank you to all our parent helpers who worked together to make this wonderful event the success that it was. Thank you to all our families and wider community who joined us for this event!
This week, Mr Gahan worked with the Year 1/2 students as they were learning to write Acrostic Poems. Isabel independently wrote an acrostic poem on 'Birds' and confidently shared her writing with her class. This is her first draft. Have a look at some of the amazing vocabulary that she has used, her use of punctuation, her joined letters and her self editing...
B - Big, small, blue, black
I - Ice cream no, insects yes!
R - Radical birds flying around
D- Dangerous predators are coming, quick hide!
S - Super birds are great!
Very creative Isabel! Congratulations on your effort!
This week families joined us for our 'Come and Learn With Us' morning, as our students engaged in literacy learning. Our Prep students made birds in response to their shared story, the 1/2's researched animal facts using non-fiction texts, the 3/4's listened to a Dreamtime story, sequenced events from the story and began to write their own Dreamtime stories, and the 5/6's engaged in artwork in response to literature. Thank you to all the families who joined us and worked with students as they engaged in learning on this morning. We loved having you in our classrooms!
This week we have had some beautiful weather and so our Year 3 to 6 students have been back outside on their bikes with Ms Rachel McLeary for Bike Ed...
If you have any questions or concerns about your child's learning, please do not hesitate to make contact with your child's teacher. You are also welcome to come and see me about any aspect of learning at Trinity.
Wishing everyone a safe and restful break. We look forward to seeing you all again for another exciting term of learning in Term 4!
