ACTING PRINCIPAL REPORT

Over the last couple of weeks our students have been enjoying the warmer weather at lunchtimes and it’s been so lovely to see lots of activities going on, with a number of lunchtime clubs for our students. We have had a range of sporting matches at lunchtimes, with a special shout out to our Year 9 students who have set up their own competition that has brought a fabulous vibe to the school at lunchtime. We had our staff versus our Year 12 student soccer match on Tuesday, with some very impressive skills on show! The House Senior Volleyball competition run by our house leaders and College Captains saw a strong Senior Mabo team win the grand final. I look forward to seeing the House spirit and house pride continue next term with many more planned activities coming up.

We had Brighton’s Got Talent this week which was organised by our Senior Arts Leaders and the SRC who worked extremely hard to organise this event for our students, with the support of Nick Karailis and Grace Buxton-Soldal. It was a wonderful evening, with a great line up of student from all of our year levels performing and I would like to thank Asaf Harel (College Council President) as one of our judges. We also had our ‘Band evening’ which was a fabulous night that showcased our many talented students, thank you for Mr Paul Varney and Mr Paul Dunn for leading this event. I would like to warmly thank all of our families and staff who attended these events.

We currently have a group of 15 students and 3 teachers (Ms Sonya Walter, Mr Gary Agg and Ms Melissa Antoniuk) who are enjoying and exploring a range of beautiful places on the 16 day Japan trip. They have visited Disneyland, Hiroshima, Kyoto and tomorrow head to the magnificent town of Kyoto. We look forward to hearing about their experience when they return.

I would like to wish everyone in our school community, especially our students, a safe and restful holiday. I look forward to seeing you all in Term 4.
