RUOK Week

This last week of term has been a time when all members of the GNLC community have come together to support one another during RUOK week. Students and staff have engaged in various activities across the week, including:

  • Lunchtime cookie decorating
  • Morning tea for the staff
  • Lunchtime concert with secondary school students
  • Wearing a touch of yellow to school
  • Visit from the Wyndham Street Surfer Bus

While we have focused on many different elements to support the wellbeing of each other, the most important message to take away from this week is the importance of taking time to Ask, Listen, Encourage action, and Check in again with one another.

ALWS Walk My Way

Since 2017 Lutheran school communities have been supporting refugee children in East Africa to attend school through Walk My Way. Walk My Way is an event where participants engage in physical activity over a 13 km or 26 km walk while raising money for refugee children. This year, Good News would love to have a team to join the Melbourne Walk My Way event which will be leaving from Luther College on Saturday 21 October 2023 for a walk along the Mullum Mullum Creek Trail. The event costs $52 for an adult and $26 for a child to enter, with all registration fees contributing to the fundraising for students. The team from GNLC would be leaving from our school at 6.45 am so we can arrive at Luther by 8 am, ready for the opening of the walk. We would love to gauge your interest.
