Preliminary NAPLAN Data

We are pleased to share that our school has received preliminary NAPLAN data for students in Years 3 and 5. While these results are early and subject to further validation, they provide a helpful snapshot of student learning and growth across key areas, including Reading, Spelling, Grammar and Punctuation, and Numeracy. No writing data is available as yet, as this domain takes longer to mark and moderate.

Initial analysis indicates that many of our students are demonstrating solid progress and encouraging signs of growth.  We are particularly proud of the effort students have shown in approaching the assessments with focus and resilience.

It is important to note that NAPLAN is just one measure of student achievement. At our school, we value a broad and balanced approach to assessment, considering classroom learning, teacher judgement, and student wellbeing alongside these results.

Over the coming weeks, staff will engage in deeper analysis of the data to identify strengths and areas for continued improvement. This will help inform our teachers and ensure we continue to meet the diverse learning needs of all students.

Individual student reports will be provided to families later in the year, offering more detailed information about your child’s performance.

We thank our students for their efforts and our staff for their ongoing commitment to high-quality teaching and learning.

Teachers Learning too!

Our staff have recently begun an exciting learning journey as they build their skills in AUSLAN (Australian Sign Language) to support the introduction of our new language across the school.

This week, staff engaged in professional learning to develop their understanding of AUSLAN, including basic signs, fingerspelling, and strategies to support inclusive communication in the classroom. This initiative reflects our commitment to creating a more inclusive and accessible learning environment for all students.

By learning AUSLAN, our staff are not only supporting the language with confidence, but also modelling the importance of respect, diversity, and communication. Students have already shown great enthusiasm. It has been wonderful to see AUSLAN being used in everyday classroom interactions.

We look forward to continuing this journey and strengthening our whole-school approach to inclusion, ensuring every student feels seen, heard, and supported.
