CURRICULUM FOCUS

This week, we are learning to solve subtraction problems.

VOCABULARY

Subtraction: making numbers smaller.

Total: how many you have all together.

Even: able to be put into 2 groups with no leftovers.

Counting back: counting down to zero.

ACTIVITIES YOU CAN DO AT HOME TO SUPPORT YOUR CHILD'S LEARNING

There were some apples on the tree, and some on the ground. How many were on the tree?

For example: Ten apples were on the tree, 4 fell down. There were 6 left. 10 - 4 = 6

Your child can record their answers using number sentences or drawings to find multiple answers for the above problem.
