Traditional Owner presentation and Smoking Ceremony
On Monday the 18th of August, Charlton College, St Joseph's Primary and Charlton Pre-School all joined for a presentation and smoking ceremony, ran by Troy Fibebrace. Troy is a Djaara Traditional Owner, Artist and Director of Firebrace Designs and Aboriginal Education Officer at Catholic Education Sandhurst. Thank you to the accompanying schools, parents and teachers who joined us in the session. We hope the students gained a greater understanding of the Dja Dja Wurrung Culture and its purpose in our world. Well done to all the Charlton College leaders who prepared and delivered a great introductory welcome to Troy prior to his presentation. Thank you to the secondary SLC for organising the session.
