Year 8 Golf

Our Year 8 classes have been busy working on their Golfing skills and this week ventured down to Warrnambool Mini Golf to test their newly developed skills. Chasing course records and enjoying some fabulous sunshine, our students had a blast with plenty of hole in ones to celebrate as well!

Year 9/10 Bowling

As part of our Sporting Schools grants, our Year 9 and 10 students are able to participate in four weeks of Indoor Tenpin Bowling as part of their regular PE classes! This grant is a regular support for King's College PE and the Year 9/10 branch is new for 2023! Students have been for their first sessions and will look to improve their scores and technique as we move through the unit.

GWR Soccer

On Wednesday 2nd August, our Year 8 boys Soccer team ventured to Ballarat for the regional Soccer competition. Coming up against strong Ballarat and Ararat squads, our team did a magnificent job keeping to our teams core values of “competitiveness, sportsmanship and teamwork”. Going down 0-6 and 0-4 our teams didn’t qualify for grand final of the pools but with several absent teammates, a big congratulations should be given to each player who stepped up to fill their role to their absolute best.

GWR Table Tennis

On Thursday 3rd August, we sent our four Table Tennis teams to the Warrnambool Table Tennis Center for the regional competition against Camperdown and Cobden. Our Year 7 boys and girls teams, along with our Year 8 boys team fought through all their matches to claim victory and secure their ticket to the state competition in November! Bringing home three first place pennants from a single event is a tremendous achievement so congratulations to each and every player. Our intermediate boys came up against some tougher competition, taking several sets but unfortunately coming in 3rd place overall for the day. A big thank you to every student who attended the day, competed and also helped Mr Bail with the convening of the event by scoring and umpiring in their off matches.
