It’s been an exciting fortnight in PE!

Here are some of the highlights:

Eastern Metropolitan Regional Winter Sports

Last week, our Boys Soccer team and Mixed Netball team showcased remarkable performance at the Eastern Regional final. Their outstanding efforts deserve recognition as they reached this elevated stage of competition. Despite narrowly missing the State Finals by finishing 3rd, it's essential to acknowledge that over 600 schools compete in the Eastern Metro region, showcasing the magnitude of this achievement. We extend our gratitude to the dedicated families whose unwavering support bolstered the students throughout these days. Your passion truly embodies the spirit of the Rangeview community, and for that, we are sincerely thankful!

Downball Championships

On Friday, August 11th, 18 students from grades 3, 5, and 6 participated in the Victorian Downball Championships. These students proudly displayed the RPS values and showcased their genuine passion for the game. Remarkable achievements were attained, with the Level 5/6 team securing a commendable 2nd place finish, narrowly trailing by a mere 3 points. In a spirited display, our Level 3 participants competed against many Level 4 teams, demonstrating noteworthy progress throughout the event and walking away with 2 wins.

We also achieved great success in the individual elimination rounds. A big congratulations to: Joel J, who secured a spot in the top 20; James G, demonstrating prowess by advancing to the top 8; Abyan K, exhibiting strategic skills and securing a place in the top 6; and finally, Vansh M, who emerged triumphant as the Downball Victorian State champion. Vansh's remarkable feat stands as a testament not only to his advanced skills but also to his composed and positive demeanor.

A special acknowledgment is also due to Vansh's father, Jay, who participated in the teacher/parent competition. We would like to extend our heartfelt gratitude to the families who assisted with transport, supervision, and providing support and encouragement throughout the day. The event itself was a true embodiment of community spirit and inclusivity, leaving us profoundly proud of all the efforts displayed by these outstanding Rangeview students.
