Father's Day Stall
The life changing influence of a good Father is not sung loud enough. When they are actively involved in their child's life they promote a strength and resilience in their child. Here at MECS we have many of these amazing Fathers and Father type figures that need to be celebrated. Our Father's Day stalls are such a fun way for our students to find that something special for their dads. This year our Year 11 students who created products to sell for their Business Management class, also held a number of stalls, which gave our Primary students a great variety of items to choose from. Our Year 9 Industry week students also contributed. We hope and pray that last Sunday you are able to make the time to celebrate the Dad in your life on Father's Day.

Learning Coming to Life!
Throughout this term, the Year 11 Business Management students have been developing a product to sell at the MECS Father’s Day stall. This process involved conducting market research on their target customers, presenting their ideas in front of an expert panel for feedback, creating the product and finally selling their product at the Father’s Day stall last Thursday.
There were a range of products for sale including baked goods, bags of lollies, personalised mugs, key chains and homemade lemon butter. Students hoped to break-even but were very excited that all their products sold resulting in them making a good profit. A portion of the profit earned will go to their chosen charity. This was a wonderful opportunity for the Year 11 students to apply what they had been learning in class while also highlighting their own entrepreneur skills and abilities.
Thank you to all the staff who assisted us in this process and for all the families who supported the Father’s Day stall. I hope everyone enjoyed their gifts… although I’m pretty sure some of the food, particularly the lolly bags may not have made it home.
