Welcome to the 2025 School Year at SSPS

Welcome back to you all for the 2025 year. I hope you have enjoyed some well-earned down time with family and friends over the summer break.

Special welcome to all the families who have joined our school community for the first time.

I am delighted to report that we have all enjoyed an exceptionally smooth start to the new school year.

It was wonderful to see the students walking back through the gates on Wednesday. All year levels have settled in well including our new Foundation students, who never cease to amaze me with their adaptability and readiness as they begin school for the first time.

We have some new staff who have started with us this year. I’d like to welcome Miss Liz Germanos who will be teaching 1G, Miss Elaine Yuan who will be teaching Japanese, and Mr Will Robinson and Mrs Sachi Abeysinghe Mudiyanselage who are joining our Student Support team. They too have settled in and are looking forward to a fabulous year ahead at Syndal South.

Exciting times ahead, as this semester we will see the Yarning Circle and new garden area established and the Toilet Refurbishment Project will also begin.

Next Thursday we will be celebrating the Lunar New Year. All students will be involved in a number of activities during the day. At 3.00 pm there will be a Dragon Dance (Chinese Youth Society) which parents are most welcome to attend.

Finally, please keep Friday 21st February free from 5.00 pm to 7.00 pm as we will be holding our annual ’Welcome Picnic’. There will be more information about this special event distributed shortly.
