Visual Arts

Welcome to Visual Arts 2025!

It’s shaping up to be a wonderfully creative year with so many projects to get stuck into! For those of you new to ENPS, allow me to sum up briefly what your child may experience in this class.

All Foundation to Year Six students participate in Visual Arts sessions once a week for an hour, for half the year. Students will get the opportunity to explore a wide variety of different art mediums such as:

  • Drawing

  • Painting

  • Printing

  • Threads and Textiles

  • Construction

  • Clay

  • Collage

  • Mixed Media, including Media Arts

This week, Foundation students began their ENPS art journey exploring painting and printing using a variety of different materials.

Other year levels will continue to further develop their art skills, as well as learn new skills, in these areas. To gain further information on what each year level can expect this term in the Visual Arts, a Year Level Flyer will be sent home shortly.

During these early Arts sessions we have been looking into the School Wide Positive Behaviours (SWPB) of Safe, Kind and Respectful and looking for ways that we can demonstrate these behaviours in the Visual Arts space. We have also begun creating a special collaborative piece - decorating a “snake’s scale”. These scales will be put together to create our homage to this year’s Lunar Year mascot -  the Snake.

I am looking forward to another exciting year with some more exciting works destined for the school grounds. You may have noticed the amazing Safe Kind Respectful mural on the side of the Gym (McCulloch Street side), keep watching, as the students will be adding their own special touch in the weeks to come!!

We will also endeavour to hold mini-exhibitions throughout the year.

Cheers for now,
