Seedling Market
A big thank you to St Anthony's Families for supporting our Seedling Market by purchasing the seedlings we grew from seeds saved. The funds went towards the ingredients for the end of year cooking (see below). Hope your plants are doing well and will produce crops for you to enjoy soon.
Carrots
What a bumper crop of carrots we have this year! All students had a taste of raw, just picked carrots. The green tops were eaten too, albeit by furry pets some of our students have.
End of Year Celebration Cooking
Students across all year levels have participated and contributed to our garden by planting, weeding and watering, learning an important life skill along the way. And what a better way to celebrate our gardening program than cooking and sharing a meal together at the end of the year!
Yesterday we had veg fried rice, pesto potatoes and Christmas fruit & carrot cake. There was a lot of chopping, slicing and dicing. Eight different vegetables came from our garden: cauliflower, snow peas, beans, carrots, potatoes, leeks, capsicums and cabbage. Pesto was made and frozen last summer. All food was allergen-free, so students could enjoy the same food. Happy to report that the bowls were empty in no time!
Botanical Creations
Just a reminder that we have a loyalty program with our local business Botanical Creations. Please mention our school if shopping there and we get 5% of your purchase that we spend on new seeds or plants. Thank you.
Wishing all our families a Merry Christmas and all the best in New Year 2025!
