Christmas Concert Cheer
What a spectacular night we had at the Christmas Concert!
The atmosphere was filled with laughter and festive cheer as our talented students took to the stage to deliver outstanding performances last night. Each class had a chance to show off their hard work and creativity, and it was a delight to watch. Adding to the magic were the solo performances, expertly led by our amazing music team, Ian and Laura, who brought out the best in our budding musicians.
The talented buskers around the grounds set a lively, festive atmosphere, entertaining everyone as they arrived. And let’s not forget the incredible Christmas outfits, which added colour and vibrancy to the evening. We were so grateful to see so many families come together to share in the celebration. Your presence made the evening all the more special.
A huge thank you to our wonderful volunteers who ran the sausage sizzle, ensuring no one went hungry, and to those who helped with the setup and pack-up. A special shout out to Craig Hill who organised the BBQ with the Fundraising team, and the Christmas raffle donations shared by all.
Special recognition goes to the extraordinary, Peta Murray, our very own "Christmas Angel," for her superb presentation, creativity, and a sprinkle of glittery magic that made the night unforgettable.
Thank you to everyone who contributed to this wonderful evening. We look forward to celebrating together again next year🎅✨
🎄 Looking Ahead to the Final Week of 2024 🎉
As the year draws to a close, we look forward to a week filled with the end of year celebrations and farewelling our Year 6 students.
The final assembly, featuring a special tribute to the graduating class, will be held in the Sports and Performance Centre on Friday, 20th December, at 9:05 AM.
On Tuesday morning, students will participate in transition activities, meeting their new classes and teachers for 2025.
A reminder that the last day of school will be a shortened day, with dismissal at 1:30 PM.

Farewell Mrs Nicholls
It is with mixed emotions that I share the news of Penny Nicholls’ decision to retire at the end of 2024, after many years of dedicated service as an exceptional educator.
Penny is a dedicated and inspiring teacher who has touched the lives of so many. Penny's teaching has always been creative and thoughtful, making her classroom an engaging place for all. Penny’s rich knowledge and passion for education, has never wavered from the beginning of her career until the last day. For Penny it’s always been about the children and the best way to switch learning on. Her love for nature, gardening, and craft reflects her warm and creative spirit, which has always shone brightly in all that she does.
As she retires, we know Penny will cherish time with her wonderful grandchildren and continue to nurture her love for the outdoors and her artistic talents.
Please join me in thanking Penny for her years of dedication and in wishing her all the best for the future. We will be organising a special event next year so stay tuned for the details. There will also be a little farewell at the last assembly.
Farewell Hollie Serollo
Hollie is about to take on a 6-month contract at a local secondary college, stepping into the role of Business Manager while their current manager recovers from illness.
At this stage, we are unsure of the long-term future of her role, but for now, we want to express our gratitude and wish Hollie every success in this exciting opportunity.
Welcome to Our Team
Welcome to Faith Thorneycroft, Madelaine Wright and Keily Jade who will be joining our teaching team for 2025 in Classroom Teaching positions.
Hello Great Ryrie community. I’m Mrs Wright, and I’m thrilled to be teaching at GRPS in 2025. When I’m not in the classroom, I love camping by the river with my husband, our dog Jessie, and our friends. I also enjoy doing Pilates, going for walks, and spending time outdoors. You might recognise me from around GRPS, as this year I had the privilege of teaching Year 2 during Term 4, along with working across various year levels over the past two years as an Education Support staff member. I can’t wait for another fantastic year of learning, growth, and fun with the GRPS community. See you soon!
Hello Great Ryrie community. I’m Miss Jade, and I’m excited to be one of your teachers for 202
5. You might recognise me from working with the Grade 5 students as an Education Support staff member, or during my teaching rounds with the Grade 3s. Outside of teaching, I love going on long walks with my Cavoodle Lennon, reading, and spending time with my friends and family. A couple of fun facts about me: I travelled around Europe with my best friend in 2023, and as a teenager, I competed nationally in Sport Aerobics.
Hello everyone, my name is Faith Thorneycroft, and I am delighted to be joining the vibrant
GRPS community, where I'm eager to cultivate a love for learning and celebrate the curiosity of each student. Beyond the school walls, you'll often find me out in nature, baking, reading or watching movies.
Enjoy the weekend with your family and friends
