Principal's message

Hello Alvie families,

Today  recognise World Teachers’ Day, a wonderful opportunity to celebrate the care, dedication and passion our teachers bring to their work each and every day. I’d like to extend my heartfelt thanks to all our staff for the countless ways they support our students, each other and our community.

Can you believe its the end of week 4 already?! As the end of year fast approaches we’re beginning to plan for our 2026 class structures and grades. If your family is planning a move or any change to enrolment, please let me know as soon as possible so that we can manage staffing and budgets effectively.

We are still seeking volunteers for Tuesday breakfast club - can you help with one or two days before the end of the year? Any help would be greatly appreciated!

This term we have shared our revised positive behaviour matrix with the students. Staff have worked to streamline this and will begin teaching explicit lessons for each of the expectations. The behaviour expectations hinge off each of our values and provide consistency and clarity across the school of how we expect our students to behave at school. Behaviours that align with these expections may (not always!) result in a student recieving a green leaf. It has been fantastic to see our whole school tree continue to grow and change colour as students add more leaves to it. You can see the behaviour matrix below.

As always, my door is open if you’d like to discuss anything, or you’re welcome to contact me via email lisa.peirce@education.vic.gov.au or at school to arrange a chat.

Finally, I'm in the process of reviewing our Child Safety Policies and am seeking input from families. There is a news item on Compass with these policies or feel free to ask for copies at the office.
