Over the past two weeks, we were delighted to host two Victorian High-Ability (VHAP) Masterclasses. VHAP students from three local schools — Highvale, Camelot Rise, and Glen Waverley South — joined our own VHAP students for a series of engaging and challenging sessions.
Throughout the day, students participated in a range of problem-solving activities across both English and Mathematics. Working in small groups with like-minded peers, they had the opportunity to collaborate, think creatively, and extend their learning in a fun and supportive environment.
A huge thank you to Mr Okita for organising and hosting both days — your efforts made these enriching experiences possible!

Last week students in Year 3,4 and 5 participated in a Cyberbullying session run by eSmart.
eSmart is an initiative of the Alannah and Madeline Foundation that aims to create a culture of smart, safe, and responsible use of technology. eSmart recognises the important role schools play in preparing students to confidently navigate a digital world, and supports the implementation of evidence-based policies and practices to promote cyber safety and assist in the prevention of cyber bullying.
Years 3 & 4 - Keeping ourselves safe online (A session that helps students identify unsafe online situations, understand help-seeking pathways, and make safe choices).
This workshop introduced students to the 4C risk areas to online safety; conduct, content, contact and compulsion. Students consider why things aren’t always as they appear online and learn to distinguish between private and public information. Students consider age appropriate scenarios to learn the importance of seeking help when they are not feeling safe online.
Year 5 - Digital Wellbeing (Supports students to understand how online activities can affect emotions and mental health and explores strategies for developing balanced screen habits).
In this workshop, students explored various aspects of digital wellbeing. They consider the risks associated with the online world, the challenges we face disconnecting from technology and discussed strategies to promote healthy digital balance.

Last Saturday, I had the pleasure of attending the WHPS Broadway Kids Dance and Drama performance. This program is offered as a lunchtime club for our students each Friday, and the participating students had the wonderful opportunity to showcase their talents in front of their parents through their performance of “The Grunch – A New Children’s Musical.”
It was truly delightful to see our students shine on stage—singing, acting, wearing costumes, remembering their lines, and efficiently moving props on and off the stage. For some students who are often quite reserved in the classroom, seeing them confidently take the stage and perform with such enthusiasm was an absolute joy!
Congratulations to all students involved for their hard work, courage, and creativity.
