Supporting Student Wellbeing Through Creative and Transition Programs 🎨🎓

This term, thanks to the generous funding from the School Focused Youth Service, we were delighted to offer two valuable wellbeing programs for our students — one for Year 5 and one for Year 6.

These programs were by invitation only, with places offered to some very deserving students who have been making the most of this special opportunity.

Our Year 6 program, Smooth Transitions, supports students as they prepare for the exciting move to secondary school. The program helps them feel confident about starting high school by exploring topics such as managing change, building and maintaining friendships, developing a positive mindset, and practising self-care. It’s a wonderful way to ease any worries and help students begin this next chapter feeling ready and supported.

Our Year 5 program, The ArtsBus, has brought creativity and joy to our school grounds. The ArtsBus is a mobile arts studio, theatre and music space that delivers meaningful and therapeutic arts experiences to children who might otherwise miss out. Just like a “mobile library,” it travels directly to schools, removing barriers such as transport and cost, and allowing all students to experience high-quality creative learning.

Both programs have been a fantastic addition to our Term 4 wellbeing focus, offering students the chance to grow, connect, and express themselves in positive ways.
