The year 12 students have now finished all VCAA exams as the 2025 examination period came to an end last Wednesday. Reports from the supervising staff highlighted positive and well-mannered and courteous students. Our class of 2025 celebrated with their teachers at their formal which this year was held at The Grand Reception in Epping, on Friday. Thank you to Kat Carmody, Simon Hill, Crystal Gray and Carly Ryan for their organization and for ensuring the night would be special and one to remember for these wonderful students. We now await the release of results on the 11th of December. Graduation Evening will follow on Monday the 15th of December. This will be a wonderful occasion to celebrate their remarkable achievements with their teachers and families. We are so very proud of their efforts and how graciously they have bloomed into fine young adults about to enter a new phase of their lives. We wish them all the very best of success and happiness.
Simon Hill (acting LT senior year) will be on leave from this Monday replacing him as Year 12 Sub school Leader is Ms. Zak Zdraveska until his return at the start of 2026. Orientation for our new 2026 year 11 and 12 students has concluded, with students beginning to engage in pre-work and holiday tasks to fully prepare for next year. It was fantastic to see so many of our students participate enthusiastically in this pre work.
Our School Improvement Team Planning day was held on Friday the 14 November. Our team of Leading teachers and Learning Specialists worked collaboratively, looking at some big picture planning which will flow into our formal Strategic Review term three in 2026. We also unpacked school level data sets to assess our progress towards this year’s AIP and begin planning for our 2026 shortened AIP.
Our focus areas will continue to surround Improving student outcomes, by specific and direct teaching of the stages of our LSC Instruction Model to all students across all year levels after an incredibly successful trial with our year seven students this year. Our second area of focus will be supporting Student Wellbeing through an intensive rollout of our Engagement Policy with a spotlight on years 7 and 8 levels.
As we head into our final month of schooling it is important that students in years 7, 8 9 and 10 continue to arrive at school on time and prepared to complete class tasks. As a school we are trying to ensure that students attend all classes on time and minimize time wastage during the change in between periods. You can support us by ensuring your child arrives at school on time and support them by embedding a strong organizational routine in the mornings. This is an important life skill to develop in our secondary students and goes a long way in developing responsibility for our own actions and the impacts these may have on others.
Teachers are currently completing final assessments and writing reports for students. Please reach out to your child’s teachers if you are concerned. We always welcome parent contact and will return your calls if we are teaching. All teacher feedback and grades for Common Assessment Tasks are available throughout the year via compass. Final reports will be released on December 15th.
