Mr Thornton, Ms Sculley and 2025 School Captains

School Captain Address

As the 2026 School Captain team, Hadee and Urooj, alongside our Vice Captains Arianna and Soha, we feel incredibly grateful and humbled to step into this role. The Yellow Arrow workshop gave us the space to reflect on the kind of leaders we want to be: ones who listen, who uplift, and who make decisions with intention. It reminded us that leadership isn’t a title, but a daily practice, in the way we speak to people, the way we handle challenges, and the way we choose to show up for our community.

Looking ahead to next year, we hope to strengthen the connections within our school and create more opportunities for students to feel involved, valued, and empowered. Whether it’s through events, initiatives, or simply being present for others, we want every student to feel that their voice matters and that they belong here.

We recognise the dedication of the captains before us and the foundation they’ve built. Our goal is to honour their work while bringing our own ideas, spirit, and energy into 2026. We’re excited to grow as leaders, to represent our school with integrity and heart, and to help make next year one that everyone can look back on with pride.

Year Level Captains

Across term 4, we held assemblies with all year levels to elect the 2026 Year Level Captains who will be part of the SRC to focus on addressing whole school improvements as well as their Year Level executive committee that will focus on planning and executing celebrations and improvements for their year level.

Congratulations to the following students:

Year 11: Leo and Aliza

Year 10: Avneet and Blair

Year 9: Zoya and Karthikeya

Year 8: Harleen and Nirmaldeep

Yellow Arrow Workshop

On Thursday the 27th of November, almost 100 student leaders for 2026 that make up the position of School Captains, Year Level Captains, Various House Captains and students that have signed up to their executive committees engaged in a Yellow Arrow leadership workshop. Students learnt a variety of skills, engaged in across year level team building and prepared pitches for initiatives they would like to work on in 2026.

The feedback from the workshops was also overwhelming positive and students are ready to make a positive difference with our school. Angus Thornton and Laura Sculley are really grateful to have had the opportunity to work with all of the captains this year and wish them the best of luck on their future endeavours.

CESC Community Leadership Awards 2025

The recipients of the CESC Community Leadership Awards are students who have demonstrated exceptional commitment, leadership, and dedication to the CESC community. Throughout the year, they have gone above and beyond to support their peers, staff and the wider school community, showing a genuine willingness to make a difference.

Their leadership is not only seen in their ability to guide and inspire others but also in their quiet, consistent acts of service that positively impact the daily life of the school. These students approach every challenge with integrity, resilience, and empathy, always considering the needs of others and striving to create a more inclusive, supportive, and positive environment.

Their unwavering commitment has strengthened the sense of community at CESC, and their influence will be felt for years to come. We celebrate three students whose contributions reflect the very best of leadership, service and dedication, and who stand as inspiring role models for all.
