What we've been up to in Prep!

Maths 

We have been busy exploring measurement, collecting data and addition in Maths over the last two weeks.

Topic

We had so much fun planting beans and baking gingerbread! Some of our beans have started to sprout at school and we are enjoying watching the changes each day. The gingerbread cooking was a big success and enjoyed by all. 

Upcoming Dates

Monday 24th June - Prep Planning Day for Term 3. Prep children will rotate between activities.

Wednesday 26th June - SWBPS Reward 'Chipnic'

Friday 28th June - Academic House Day & early finish at 2:15pm

Upcoming Learning

Literacy

Next term in Literacy, we start learning how two letters can make one sound. We begin this by learning to read words with ss, ll  and ff and then extend this to sh, th and ch later in the term. We will read stories with different animals and investigate information texts. 

Mathematics

There will be lots of new learning next term! This includes place value (making groups of 10 and 1), sharing, teen numbers, sequencing numbers and measuring time (days, months, afternoon, morning).

Our Topic for Term 3 is Animals! In this Topic we will learn about the different animal groups, their habitats and what they need to survive. To compliment this learning, we will visit the Ballarat Wildlife Park. More information about this will be available next term.  

In Respectful Relationships, we will learn about Stress Management and Help Seeking.
