Principal's Report

2024 Student Attitudes to School Survey (AtoSS)

We have received some excellent preliminary results from the recent AtoSS for Grade 4-6 children. I shared these with our School Council on Monday. Our staff will analyse them in detail over the coming weeks.

I have put together a summary below. The numbers below refer to the % of students who had a positive response to the questions asked within each of these topics. The results in yellow are our results from this year, while the results in blue are those of 'similar schools' as this is the most accurate way to assess our performance i.e. they are considered to have students of a similar level of advantage/disadvantage overall. Please note that 'similar schools' results are not yet available for 2024, although these will only be marginally different from 2023, if at all. The 2022 and 2023 results are there to provide additional context in relation to our performance over time.

Our results are outstanding and would easily be some of the best AtoSS outcomes in Victoria. These results are only possible due to our committed staff and our awesome students.

Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander Perspectives in the Curriculum

I just wanted to share some of the great work our Specialist teaching team have been doing in relation to their Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander Perspectives in the Curriculum Community of Practice. This work reflects the broader work we have been doing as part of the Koorie Curriculum Clusters Pilot program. This Department of Education and Training pilot program supports partnerships between Koorie communities and clusters of local schools to strengthen Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander perspectives across the curriculum.

As Term 2 draws to a close, I would like to wish all of our families a very safe and happy holiday. This term has certainly been packed with lots of fun and learning and Term 3 promises more of the same!
