Principal’s Report

Soccer Tournament

Congratulations to the students who participated in the Soccer Tournament last Wednesday. The students played very well supported by Mrs Vaughan and Miss McLean. Thank you for all your efforts.

Unit Masses

Tomorrow the Grade 3 and Grade 4 students will celebrate mass in the St Kilian’s Church. Families and friends are encouraged to join us in this liturgy.

Grade 3 to 6 School Athletics

Next Friday the Grade 3 to 6 students in the school will be participating in the School Athletics Carnival, being held at the La Trobe Athletics Track. The students will be participating in a number of both running and field events, with the focus being on participation and fun. All students will earn points for their house, with a winner being announced at the end of the day. In term 3 our Grade Prep to 2 students will participate in a tabloid sports event which will be a modified athletics event.

Different Journeys Carers Cuppa

We are excited to host the Different Journeys Carers Cuppa on Monday 24th July at 9:15 am. We encourage all who are keen to catch up and network to join us.

Student Semester 1 Reports

Over the past week the staff have been gathering information about each student’s learning so they can accurately report on the current progression of their learning. This has taken the form of conducting some summative testing as well as collecting student data collected throughout the semester. The student reports will be a summation of the students’ learning in the first Semester of 2024. Reports will be made available to families on SIMON in the last week of the term.

Early next term, Tuesday 30th July, Wednesday 31st July and Tuesday 7th August, the staff will conduct 3-Way Conversations with all families, so they get the opportunity to discuss each student’s learning for Semester 1 and to set new learning goals for the remainder of the year.

End of Term

The school term 2 concludes at 2:30pm Friday 28th June.

Term 3 begins on Tuesday 16th July 2024.

Pupil Free Day

Monday 15th July. The staff will participate in a Professional Development Day focusing on learning and teaching in writing.

Feast Day Celebrations

Thursday 27th July, the school will be celebrating the St Kilian’s Feast Day. Although the feast day officially falls in the school holidays (8th July), as a school we thought it is important to celebrate ‘who we are’ by honouring our Patron Saint, Saint Kilian. On Thursday 27th July students are encouraged to wear their sports uniform.

Friday 28th July we will acknowledge Saint Kilian during 10 am. For lunch we will celebrate with a Sausage Sizzle where all students will be provided with two sausages in bread. Our School Advisory Council are asking for volunteers to assist in cooking sausages for a BBQ.
