In writing, there will be a focus on letter formation, spacing and the use of punctuation. Students will be encouraged to use adjectives in their writing to add detail to their sentences.
Oral language will continue to be a focus, supporting students to organise their thoughts and ideas, speaking clearly and projecting their voice when presenting to the class.

Concrete materials will continue to be used, to assist in developing their understanding of the place value in numbers. Students will be exposed to open ended tasks that support problem solving skills and the concept of multiple answers. Using mathematical language will be encouraged to help students explain their thinking and support new learning.
