June is Pride Month

What is Pride Month?

Pride Month is a month-long celebration that recognizes the LGBTQ+ community and their contributions to society. It is a time to acknowledge the challenges faced by this community and to stand in solidarity with their fight for equality, acceptance, and human rights.

How did we celebrate Pride Month at Croydon Hills Primary School?

At Croydon Hills Primary School, we celebrated Pride Month by having a special day last week and encouraged children to wear a splash of colour. By wearing special clothes it is just a visual reminder to students that we need to be inclusive of diversity. It is also about how we want to be positive and supportive of people no matter if they are different from us. We as a school are embracing everyone’s differences. It was really lovely to see all of the wonderful outfits that the students were wearing, from tutu’s, rainbow wings down to colourful socks.
