Grandparent's Day - Year 2

Yesterday our Year 2 classrooms welcomed some very special visitors for Grandparent's Day.

Each of our visitors brought in artefacts from their former years and explained their origins and purposes (some in great detail). I encourage families to enquire further about these experiences at home, and, if possible, have these conversations regularly. The poignant outcome for mine was the consistent messaging to the children related to their upbringing in which the core values of respect and appreciation for others were sacrosanct.

The Soccer Pitch is Open!

Over the past two years, the Junior School Council and Captains have been leading the school's renovations to the soccer pitch. This has included meeting with the local council to source funding for a fence, landscaping of the pitch to create a better surface and installing synthetic grass in the goal area.

This week, to much joy, it was opened!

Winter Uniform

This week a family enquired about the school's stance on wearing non-logoed winter jackets to stay warm. My response was simple - no worries at all!

As I've previously shared the school's uniform and how students wear their uniform is a symbol of pride in the school.

The school's Uniform Policy outlines the school's uniform and the options available for families. Notably, to stay warm and dry, families can opt to buy the logoed polar fleece winter jacket or wear a plain jacket.

Clothing items that the School Council has identified that need to be logoed include the school polo, windcheater, and bomber jacket.  Plain navy-blue items such as shorts, skorts, and track pants can be purchased through the uniform shop/Flexischools or at an independent supplier of choice. School logoed items and other school-specific items such as the summer dress, can be brought through the uniform shop/Flexischools or second-hand via CHAPs
