All students attending St Louis de Montfort's Aspendale have the right to feel safe. The care, safety and wellbeing of children and young people is a fundamental responsibility of all within our school.

This weekend the Year 5 families are invited to celebrate our Level 5 Family Mass. In class, the Year 5 students have been exploring this week's gospel- 'The Parable of The Mustard Seed.' Jesus uses the mustard seed as an analogy to illustrate the power of even the smallest amount of faith. He emphasizes that faith, no matter how small it may appear, can grow and produce remarkable outcomes. Jesus compares the growth of God’s kingdom to sowing the smallest of seeds to take root and grow to become the largest of plants. So large in fact that the birds can find a home and build their nests in it.

Our faith in God may seem very small sometimes. The good things we do may not always seem to make a difference. Our lives may not always seem very special but Jesus reminds us that, like the tiny mustard seed, our potential is unimaginably large! Small things and small beginnings can lead to great transformations. All that is necessary is a bit of faith and a willingness to be Jesus’ disciples.

The Year 5's are planting seeds of Faith, Joy, Love, Hope, Resilience, Care...

When we follow Jesus we become the ‘seeds’ that God is planting to bring the kingdom of God into the world and be a place where all people who love God can find a home. We must remember that no-one person nor one action is too small to make a big difference and trust that even the smallest amount of faith in God can help us achieve amazing things.

Dear God,

Thank you for the many things that you give us.

Help us to be thankful for what we have, instead of always looking for more.

Help us to remember that even the smallest act of kindness we can do for others can have a huge impact, and that everything we do for others, we  also doing for You!

Amen
