Refugee Week

Our school community celebrated Refugee Week - the theme for this year 2024 is Finding Freedom, with a focus on families.

The week kicked off with a display of refugees' huts and camps, followed by short film screenings. Few students and staff participated in trivia/quizzes to test their knowledge about how much they know about refugees. This has given them the opportunity to explore stories and learn more about the experiences of refugees who have overcome barriers to find freedom. We ended the week with some delicious food (chicken and rice, puff puff - round donuts), then watched family movie Encanto, the scene where the families were forced to flee their home with their three children and found safety in the enchanted place.
