Welcome to Term 1!

It has been a wonderful and busy time in Stage 1! 

We are looking forward to a wonderful year filled with curiosity, creativity and growth. Our students will have many opportunities to explore new ideas, build friendships and develop their confidence as learners. Through engaging lessons, teamwork and hands-on experiences, we will support every child to do their best and celebrate their achievements along the way. We are excited to see our students shine both in and out of the classroom this year! ✨

A friendly reminder to please ensure students bring their hats to school each day as we continue to enjoy learning and playing outdoors. ☀️🧢

Stage 1 Events

Mathematics in Action! 

In mathematics, Year 1 students have been exploring volume by measuring and comparing how much different containers can hold. Using informal units such as rice, students practised filling, counting and comparing to understand concepts like full, empty, more and less. 📏

In mathematics, Year 2 students have been learning about area by covering different shapes with square counters. Through hands-on activities, students explored how counting the number of counters helps us measure and compare the amount of space a surface covers. 📐

Road Safety - PDH 

Year 1 students have been learning about road safety in PDHPE and exploring why helmets are important for keeping us safe. As part of the unit, students designed their own creative helmets, thinking about how they can protect our heads while riding bikes and scooters. 🪖🚲

Monday Matters - You Can Do It!

Year 2 students are enjoying participating in Monday Matters, where they come together to share ideas, listen to one another and strengthen their sense of belonging. These meaningful conversations help students connect with their peers, build respectful relationships, and develop confidence in expressing their thoughts and feelings. 🌟
