PRINCIPAL'S AGM REPORT

Acting Principal Report to School Council 2024-2025
Korumburra Secondary College
It is a privilege to serve as Acting Principal of Korumburra Secondary College. In 2024, we engaged staff, students, and parents to define our core values, which were launched in February 2025.
At Presentation Evening, I highlighted the vital role students play in shaping a positive school culture. While dedicated teachers, supportive families, and excellent facilities contribute, it is students' engagement, ambition, and ideas that make our school truly great.
A key focus this year is embedding School Wide Positive Behaviour Supports to foster a consistent, positive learning environment. Parents play a crucial role in this journey, and we encourage participation in subcommittees that support policy review, facilities, teaching, learning, wellbeing, and financial management.
Our diverse learning pathways, including Like Minds, Activate, VCE VM, ACE, and Student 360 mentor meetings, ensure every student has opportunities for success. In 2025, we reintroduced the Student Representative Council (SRC) to amplify student voice. The SRC has already initiated a survey on new CrossFit stations and previously influenced school uniform updates, including the addition of a hoodie, tracksuit pants, and a beanie.
Parent satisfaction, measured at 76.9% in the Annual Parent and Carers Opinion Survey, exceeded the state-wide average of 71.6%. Similarly, staff endorsement of School Climate was 64.2%, above the state-wide 58.5%.
Collaboration between students, families, and staff is essential to a thriving school culture. Together, we can ensure Korumburra Secondary College remains a place of opportunity, excellence, and belonging. I look forward to working with the new School Council to bring this vision to life.
