PRESIDENT'S AGM REPORT

President’s Report: Korumburra Secondary College 2024-2025
As President of the Korumburra Secondary College School Council, it is my privilege to reflect on the past year from March 2024 to March 2025. It has been a year marked by both challenges and achievements, yet it is clear that our school community has demonstrated resilience, dedication, and a shared commitment to fostering an environment where every student can thrive.
One of the most significant indicators of our school’s positive trajectory has been the growth in student enrolments. This growth speaks volumes about the confidence that families place in our school’s ability to meet the needs of students and provide a well-rounded, inclusive educational experience. We are committed to continuing to build on this foundation and ensuring that every student feels valued and supported in their learning journey.
At the heart of any successful school is its educators and support staff. Korumburra Secondary College is fortunate to have a team of passionate and committed professionals who work tirelessly to inspire and challenge our students. What sets our staff apart is their collective belief in the potential of every student. This belief creates an environment of high expectations, encouraging students to achieve their best and prepare for a future filled with possibilities. It is this belief - shared across classrooms, support services, and administration, that fosters a culture of growth, resilience, and achievement.
The school’s dedicated Leadership Team, under the guidance of Acting Principal Naomi Coleman, continues to provide unwavering support for staff, students, and families. The efforts of the Leadership Team have been commendable. By fostering open communication, collaboration, and innovative approaches to problem-solving, the Leadership Team has ensured that our school remains responsive to the evolving needs of our community.
Our parents and carers continue to be vital partners in our school’s success. Their ongoing support - whether volunteering in the canteen, assisting with excursions, or participating in school events - enriches the educational experience for all students. This partnership strengthens the connection between home and school, reinforcing the values of community and collaboration that define our school.
Engaging with our broader community is a priority at Korumburra Secondary College. Throughout the year, the school has actively connected with local organisations, industry partners, and government bodies to create meaningful learning opportunities. These partnerships not only expand the horizons of our students but also help to develop the skills and confidence they need to become active, contributing members of society - our future workforce, leaders, and community members.
Finally, I wish to extend my heartfelt thanks to the members of the School Council for their dedication and service. Our Council, comprising students, parents, staff, and community members, has played an essential role in guiding the school’s direction. Their contributions to policy review, strategic planning, and financial oversight have been invaluable. Special thanks go to Matt Row and Sam Norrey for their leadership in generating funding opportunities via the School Deb. I am deeply grateful to each member of the Council for their time, energy, and commitment to our school.
As we look to the future, I am confident that Korumburra Secondary College will continue to grow and strengthen its role as a cornerstone of our community. Together, we will strive to provide an education that empowers every student to reach their full potential.
Thank you all for your continued support and dedication.
