StoryBox Competition

Amelia Wins James Foley Competition!
Our students recently participated in the James Foley Competition, an exciting opportunity for young writers and illustrators to showcase their creativity. This competition, inspired by the renowned Australian author and illustrator James Foley, challenges students to craft imaginative stories and engaging artwork.
We are thrilled to announce that Amelia from 5/6C has won the Major Prize for COHR for her outstanding entry! Her work impressed the judges with its creativity, originality, and storytelling skills. Amelia’s achievement is a testament to her dedication and passion for writing/illustrating.
As the Major Prize Winner, Amelia has won for the school an in-person visit to our school from James Foley and a 12-month Premium subscription to StoryBox. Even more exciting, James will be joined by the StoryBox Hub film crew to record a special reading of his new picture book, Happy Barry, Capybara, right here at our school!
We are also incredibly proud of all our students in the level, who each submitted a creative and thoughtful entry. The competition organisers were so impressed by the amazing efforts of everyone at COHR that they would like to feature a group photo of all the students’ illustrations on the StoryBox website!
A special thank you to Mrs Karen Wakeling for her initiative in finding this competition and encouraging our students to take part.
Congratulations to Amelia and all of our talented students—what a fantastic achievement for our school!
