Sacrament of Reconciliation

It was a lovely celebration on Tuesday night for our students receiving the Sacrament of Reconcilaition for the first time. All seven sacraments celebrate our humanity. They celebrate the important aspects of our lives. They celebrate our connection to God through out our lives.
Celebrating the Sacrament of Reconciliation gives us the opportunity to pause. To pause and reflect on our lives, on the aspects of our lives that are going well and on the aspects that we are finding challenging. When making our confession, and reconciling ourselves with God we are admitting that at times we don't make the best choices. We are asking God to help us on our life journey to be more like Jesus.
Our Opening Prayer on Tuesday evening is one we could all pray for each other and ourselves.
Let us pray.
Lord, no one is a stranger to you
and no one is ever far from your loving care.
In your kindness bring back those
who have wandered far from you
and those in need of your forgiveness.
We ask this through Christ our Lord.
Amen
Take care and find time to pause and pray,
Jo Cowan
