Times Tables Rock Stars Competition

The students and teaching staff at The King's College are incredibly excited to announce that they came 83rd place in Rest of the World Rocks - a times tables competition run by the internationally renowned, award-winning app and learning platform, Times Tables Rock Stars.

Rest of the World Rocks required children to correctly answer as many multiplication and division questions as possible, to give their class and school the best chance of winning. The competition was fierce, with 44,843,322 questions answered collectively by 56,124 students from more than 451 schools and 4,702 classes around the country!

Our school stats were astonishing, too. On average, our top class answered 1,032 questions correctly per pupil, with the best-performing pupil answering an amazing 15,842 questions correctly in total. I am sure you can appreciate that those stats are out of this world! We are thankful to Mrs Kriek for championing this competition with such enthusiasm!

Harmony Day

The King's College celebrated Harmony Week - Everyone Belongs, taking time to celebrate Australia's diverse community.   On Harmony Day 21 March, our primary school students were invited to bring a shared plate representing their culture or country and to wear traditional clothes from their country of origin or the colour orange. Other activities during the day include face painting, cultural music, and fun games.

World of Maths

The World of Maths incursion was a fun and engaging experience that helped our students explore mathematical concepts through hands-on, real-world problem-solving activities. Students worked in small teams, developing their thinking skills while enjoying maths in a creative and interactive way.

Year 6 Camp

In Week 8 of this term, our Year 6 students embarked on a three-day camping adventure at Forest Edge Recreation Camp in Waroona. Hear firsthand about their experience:

By Ada D. 6B | My favourite things about camp were kayaking, rock climbing and raft building.  I liked kayaking when we went on the water, it was very pretty. It was so clear and we got to play games like fruit salad and a race. My favourite part of rafting was learning the Bob Knot and the teamwork. The camp also had great food. There were burgers, lasagne and roast and the dorms were cool.

By Nompu M. 6A | The Camp was really fun, and I enjoyed the zipline the most. This is because of the speed and the great view of the emus and kangaroos, although it was a long walk back! I also liked crate climbing because you had to think of a way together to make sure your team-mate doesn’t fall down in the given time.

Edu Dance Concert

Edu Dance is one of the highlights of The King's College Primary students' year.

The children have practised choreographed dances throughout the term and had the opportunity to showcase what they learnt for their parents. We are sure those in attendance would agree that we were treated to an incredible show!
