Principals' Message

Dear Families,
Yesterday we celebrated Ash Wednesday and the beginning of the Lenten Season.
The Season of Lent invites us to a time of repentance and renewal. To help us prepare for the Holy Season of Easter and cleanse us of our wrongdoings, we embrace this time through prayer, fasting and good works. It provides us with a time to strengthen our faith and mend or deepen our relationship with God and with others.
May the Lord grant us a Lenten Season that is different from all the others that we have experienced. May we know how to take advantage of the opportunities that we will be given to enable us to begin anew. May we know how to do what Christ asks us to do so we are able to be faithful followers and people of peace.
Filled with the Holy Spirit, Jesus was led by the Spirit through the wilderness where he was tempted.
Luke 4:1-13
In the Gospel for this coming Sunday (Luke 4:1–13) we hear that Jesus was in the desert for forty days and during this time he was tempted three times. Jesus was able to overcome these temptations by being faithful to God and placing all his trust in God.
Our Challenge:
Sunday’s Gospel depicts the struggle Jesus has to remain true to himself and his faith and calls us to put our trust in God.
- How do we overcome temptation when it arises?
- Do we have the courage to put our faith and trust in God?
