Last week, the Year 12 cohort participated in a study skills session presented by Success Integrated. The session provided students with valuable strategies to enhance their productivity and time management, including techniques like time chunking to maximize focus and efficiency.
Students were encouraged to embrace a growth mindset—transforming "I can't" into "I can"—to foster resilience and self-belief. The importance of goal setting was highlighted, encouraging students to set clear objectives and stay motivated.
Overall, the session emphasized teamwork, collaboration, and mutual support, reminding students of the benefits of working together and building a strong support network during this pivotal year. We know that the session equipped our Year 12 students with practical skills and renewed their determination to achieve their personal best.
The Year 11 BBQs have resumed for 2025. These gatherings provide a fantastic opportunity for students to connect, strengthen their bonds within the year level, and foster a sense of community. It's wonderful to see the enthusiasm and positive energy among our Year 11s during these events.
Our Peer Support Program also continues to thrive, with strong relationships being formed between the Year 7 students and their Year 11 buddies, particularly during their time together at Camp ADANAC. The guidance and encouragement shown by our Year 11s has been instrumental in helping our Year 7s settle into school life with a bit more confidence.
Additionally, our Easter Raffle is now underway! Thank-you to the families who have already donated eggs—we greatly appreciate your generosity. All year 11 students will receive an entry into the raffle. Bonus entries are awarded to any student that brings a donation. We look forward to a successful raffle to celebrate the season and our great start to VCE!
We are thrilled to share that we have recently taken expressions of interest for both the Presentation Ball and the Snow Camp. These are fantastic opportunities for our students to build lifelong memories, develop new skills, and strengthen connections with their peers.
In addition, our students are busily preparing for their Work Experience placement, which will take place during the final week of Term 2. This is an excellent chance for them to explore potential career pathways, gain valuable real-world experience, and develop their confidence in professional settings.
We look forward to seeing our students fully embrace these opportunities.
On Thursday, 27 March, I had the privilege of accompanying our Year 7-12 SRC students to the Melbourne Secondary Youth Leadership Conference. The day was packed with inspiring workshops and keynote speakers, all centered on building skills in communication, creating meaningful change, and taking actionable steps toward leadership goals.
Our students actively engaged in these sessions, showcasing their passion and dedication to making a positive impact within the school and wider community. The conference also provided a fantastic opportunity for them to connect with like-minded peers and gain valuable insights to apply to their leadership roles.
It was wonderful to witness their enthusiasm and growth throughout the day. I am confident that the experiences and lessons gained will further empower them as leaders in our school community.
As we approach the end of term, we would like to wish all our families a happy, restful, and enjoyable Easter break. We look forward to welcoming everyone back refreshed and ready for an exciting term ahead.
