Spotlight on Learning in Maths!

There is certainly lots of Maths learning happening at St John’s! Over the last few weeks during Professional Learning Meetings, the teachers have continued to engage in professional reading and discussions about the Science of Learning and how students learn best. They have been incorporating high impact teaching strategies such as the use of whiteboards and non-volunteers to encourage students to think about the learning and actively participate at all times. Hands-on learning and the use of concrete materials have continued to be used in learning to further develop conceptual understanding and to practise fluency.

On Clean Up Australia Day, each class collected rubbish from around the school and graphed the results. Check out the display in the corridor downstairs!
